Kings and sages
In dungeon cages
My queen cries
The phantom rages
And war is begun
All in the pages of chapter one

Warriors ride
Hearts are tried
Wind blows
The jesters hide

Lords ponder
Creatures wander
Clouds roll
With skies of thunder

Cries of rain
The beggar is sane
The willow knows
And weeps in pain

Knights have bled
The moat ran red

Counsel spake
Peasants take
