Spring Again
lusty young lovers in spring
your hand-holding your arm
around waist your tongue
inside mouth your insipid
sweet exchanges of tenderness
and togetherness and oneness
and foreverness
do you have any idea
just how implausible you are
lusty young lovers in spring
you irritate me
like prestige cars
clouds of classic
walnut chrome leather
wafting on by with
capitalist abandon
as the soles of my shoes
unpeel effortlessly
like kraft cheese singles
flip flop flip flop flip
see the school children
choking on watermelon seeds
constipated with vernal adjectives
sap spittle dripping from their tongues
growing seeds in cotton wool
and writing odes to spring
burgeoning blossoming blooming
tedious sunny day words
inside buzzing bee borders
be descriptive children
true love you sweet fat cheeked
cherub cheery pie thing you
soft winged spurious entity
without credentials without
compunctions
see how you cling
long enough
but not long enough
and flitter flutter by
like a reckless butterfly
