The Willow Knows
Kings and sages
In dungeon cages
My queen cries
The phantom rages
And war is begun
All in the pages of chapter one
Warriors ride
Hearts are tried
Wind blows
The jesters hide
Lords ponder
Creatures wander
Clouds roll
With skies of thunder
Cries of rain
The beggar is sane
The willow knows
And weeps in pain
Knights have bled
The moat ran red
And battle is done
As ravens pick the dead
Counsel spake
Peasants take
Lightning strikes
The willows break
Dragons are slain
All is vain
Love is lost
Visions are gained
Crystal ball
Tells the tale tall
Scroll is read
From the castle wall
Wizards confide
The queen’s maidens lied
And the willow knows
How love died
